Skype in the Classroom reaches children all over the world – WILLOW TREE WILDLIFE is proud to be a part of this program. Here are a few photos from some of the classrooms we’ve taught. Our program is called “Let’s learn about Pelicans”. Children love to see the big beautiful California Brown Pelicans especially when they are active and interacting with one another. Although not all of our students see Pelicans where they live, the lessons of respecting wildlife, keeping the ocean and environment healthy, fishing line and hook injuries, oil spills, etc. are issues that affect all wildlife.
To see these young beautiful faces, despite language barriers, engage and appreciate seeing live birds close up, ask questions, learn about our part of the world, is a joy and fulfillment of my vision to help educate as many as possible. The learning goes both ways. I also learn about the children I teach. And, as we all know, children ask the most interesting questions.
